The Pneumatic Technology Package is one of the Mechatronics Training Packages. Pneumatic components and systems can be found in all aspects of manufacturing applications from assembly line robots, to storage, retrieval and delivery systems. By providing the force for clamping, lifting and moving, pneumatic and electro-pneumatic technology enables the automation of entire production processes, thereby reducing time and costs and improving quality. The study and use of pneumatic technology is thus an important element in preparing student for success in industrial careers and making existing technical industry personnel aware of these technologies. LSM Pneumatic Technology Package enables them to grasp the fundamentals of pneumatically & electro-pneumatically controlled systems commonly used in modern automated manufacturing environments through hands-on activities. This package challenges them to design and build pneumatic & electro-pneumatic circuits with actual components. The Pneumatic Technology Package uses the training panel along with a wide assortment of industrial grade pneumatic components. Unlike the fixed panel components in some other Pneumatic Technology Package, students/industry personnel can easily mount and configure components on the pneumatic panel in order to create a variety of applications. They can connect different components, change physical parameters and observe system response.
